About the Event
Cyber theft and online scams have increased and become more sophisticated as more and more people are relying on using the internet in their everyday lives for staying in touch, researching, banking, shopping etc – now more than ever during this isolation period.
It is important to be able to use your devices in a secure and confident manner and not be targeted or fall victim to the vast array of scams and frauds.
In this session you will learn:
- how to identify scams,
- how to respond to certain situations,
- what to do if you think you have been scammed,
- tips on how to protect yourself and your information online.
This is a ‘virtual classroom’ using Zoom meetings. You can participate from the comfort of your own home on your own device. For those that are new to Zoom meetings do not worry. We will be sending out detailed step by step instructions on how to join a zoom meeting, and we will open the meeting up one hour prior for registrations and to assist anyone that needs help joining.
Not only will you learn about travelling from home, you will also learn about Zoom meetings!
